Become a Local Water Hero: Coloring & Activity Pamphlet for Kids

September 29th, 2025

Help encourage environmental awareness in children with the Become a Local Water Hero Activity Pamphlet—an engaging, free resource designed for ages 7 and up! Help kids become “Water Heroes” while having fun learning about water conservation and the environment.

  • The pamphlet turns water-wise habits into interactive activities, including coloring, checklists, and simple at-home solutions.
  • Kids learn essential eco vocabulary like “watershed,” “transpiration,” and “evaporation,” with all terms clearly explained and supported by visuals. Some terms and concepts might be new for younger kids, so parents may want to help explain or read along together.
  • Action steps such as “turn off taps” and “shorten showers” empower children to make a real difference at home and in their communities.

This pamphlet was created by the Neal Taylor Nature Center as part of the first-ever participation in Santa Barbara Creek Week in September 2025. Read the full creek week 2025 recap here >
